Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What type of photographic services do you provide?

I primarily photograph families and weddings.

I do not offer birth or newborn photography but I will refer you to photographers who do.

Q: Where in Hawai`i are you located?

I am located on the island of Oahu and do not charge a travel fee for anywhere on Oahu. I will go anywhere on the island and we choose the best locations based on the style you are looking for, the weather, lighting, and proximity to where you reside or are staying.

Q: What if Iʻm on a different island?

A travel fee will be added. Itʻs pretty affordable and depending on the island, itʻs helpful since some islands may be more limited in photographic options.

Q: How long is a photo shoot?

I donʻt put a limit to how long a photo shoot is. My goal is to make sure you that have enough photos and variety to choose from. For some photo shoots, we might be able to accomplish that very quickly, while for others, they take more time. And weʻll take as much as time as it needs until we feel we have enough images and everyone is still having fun. If you want a ball-park idea, Iʻd plan for photo shoots averaging around 1-1.5 hours.

Q: Do you offer mini-sessions?

Short answer…no.
Long answer…yes, but the session fee is the same. And I encourage people to plan for more time on their photo shoots, not less. Sometimes kids take a half hour to wake up after falling asleep in the car. Sometimes, the light gets intensely magical after weʻve been at a location for a while already. And generally, everyone is more relaxed and look much more natural in photos after the initial nerves wear off.

Q: When will my proofs be ready?

Your proofs will be ready 3 weeks after your photo session. Weʻll schedule a viewing session (Zoom options available for those off-island) where we look through your proofs and you select the ones you want to order. You can upgrade to other collections and thereʻs a discount on physical products (albums, wall canvas, framed prints, etc) when you order them during the viewing session.

Q: Do you offer digital images?

Absolutely! Actually, everyone starts with the Simply Sweet Package which includes ten digital images. You get to choose your ten favorite images during the viewing session and you will be able to download them right away! If you have more than ten favorite, you can purchase additional digital images or even upgrade to a bigger collection.

And we also offer physical prints (framed prints, albums, wall canvas, etc). Part of using a professional photographer is taking care of your printed art all in one sitting. Often times, weʻll post family photos on social media and maybe use one for the family Christmas card, but then these beautiful memories just sit hidden away in a digital folder. Parents are incredibly busy and itʻs hard when there are other priorities to take care of, so this is a great opportunity to have someone help you decorate your home with the faces of the ones you love most.

Q: Can I print my photos on my own?

Absolutely!

I always want photos to be like really good books, you want to see them everywhere getting lots of love. You are free to use your photos for personal reasons, you can share and print them to your heartʻs delight. I can provide recommendations as the appearance of your photos will depend on the quality of the printing lab.
