Waikiki Vacation Photography | Lynette at Makapuu

Lynette is a Cali girl, and she certainly brought the golden sunshine with her for our east shore shoot.   The afternoon light for our shoot was gorgeous, only outdone by miss gorgeous herself.  She has smile that stretches for days and I love that she’s quick to laugh and laugh often.

Before her vacation in Hawaii, we emailed often planning out the perfect vacation photo session.  As part of our introductions, Lynette sent a photo of herself with her mom and shared that Oahu holds a very special place in her heart.  Her parents had brought her here often growing up and it was the last place they visited together before her parents got sick.  Sadly, Lynette’s father passed away.  Returning to Oahu was a bittersweet step.  Her last memories in Oahu was the last trip she took with her father and it meant a lot to come back again.

With everything that she has been through, Lynette came out a stronger person, and still ready to embrace new adventures and challenges with a smile.  Her travel list is incredible, her last trip was to Bali.  But her Hawaii vacation was closer to the heart and she contacted me about capturing her travel adventure here in paradise.  She was staying in beautiful Waikiki so we stayed close and ventured to the east shores of Oahu.  I think we captured her fun and active personality as we hit the hot surf spots at Makapuu and Sandy’s.  As the sun was setting and we were finishing up, she said she wished she had thought to take photos with her parents on their last trip here together.  I still think she’s started something beautiful.

I was so excited to deliver her photos because there’s always the anticipation of waiting to see how they like it.  I was over the moon when she emailed back:

“Oh my gosh, Keao, I LOVE ALL THE PICTURES!!!!! The pictures came out amazing, thank you for doing such a great job!!!! I LOVE THEM ALL!!!! It’s so funny because I had a bad day at work on Friday but when I saw your e-mail when I got home, I forgot all about what happened at work & was so happy afterward. The pictures came out 10,000x better than what I had originally envisioned & you captured all the ideas that I was looking for. Thank you so much, I really love my pictures & can’t wait to show my mom! It’s too bad she couldn’t be in them w/ me. More importantly, thank you for being a great person to work with! I think your strongest suit is your ability to listen to what the client is saying, being flexible & open to ideas, being patient & making the client feel very comfortable. I knew that you were going to be the right person!”  ~Lynette
I might have blushed a little but that’s it…that’s exactly how thrilled I want to make everyone feel.  Making beautiful photos is fun, but getting to help people feel beautiful is priceless.
