Big Island Hawaii Photographer | Ladybug 1st Birthday Invitations | Anaiah

If you’ve lived in Hawaii for more than a year, you must know how huge first birthdays are and how much we like to celebrate this huge milestone here.  I love photographing everything under the moon (except food…my husband is the avid food photographer in the family) but I really love weddings and children photography.  Well, a new service that I implemented last year combines the sweetness of children’s photography with the excitement of capturing the action and beautifully planned details of a special event in someone’s life.  First Birthday Photography!!! I love being able to showcase little sweethearts and the all the joyous hubbub that surrounds them on the best birthday of all, their very first one.

This little girl is celebrating her first birthday in true ladybug style.  So, we started well before the big party with a photography session to give her proud parents professional pictures to glow over.  And then we devoted a small portion of the session with a styled setting to match her birthday theme, ladybugs!  Can you believe this gorgeous backdrop and dreamy colors?  This is their backyard!  I’m so jealous. You know you’re a photographer when your dream backyard is inspired purely by how it will look as a photo backdrop.  My dream is to rip down our rusty chain-link fence and replace it with a beautiful white picket fence covered in sprawling vines.  My practical “a.k.a. party pooper” hubby keeps saying that a white picket fence would get dirty too fast.  I promise I’ll scrub it every week!  Maybe just ever other week-)

Daddy came home from work just as we were finishing up the session and I snapped photos of this shy, handsome cowboy with his favorite little girl.  It was so sweet to see her face just light up when she saw her daddy.

After the session, all they had to do was kick back and let me take care of the rest.  Once their photos were done, they selected their favorites and I used them to create this adorable ladybug birthday invitation.  I am in love with these greeting-card style invitations.  They’re printed on thick matte card paper for added durability and protected with a semi-gloss finish.  It’s two-sided so you have tons of room to provide all the important party details.  And friends don’t need to toss these incredible invites once the partying is finished.  The timeless design on the card’s face can be displayed on their fridge all year long.   You’re not just sending an invitation, you’re sending a professional portrait of your children.
